Journal #43 How it's going so far

Things are going pretty good so far in this class. Although there have been some difficulties with the assignments hopefully I get a well deserved grade. I am hoping that I pass this course with a good grade. I have done all of my work and I am confident that I will have a good grade. This course seems easy but yet sometimes challenging. For all everything is going great for me.

Journal #42 Good Samaritan Killed

A man was killed for trying to help someone with their car troubles Sunday night. The man was a motorist on the freeway who tried to help someone with what went wrong with their car. His car hood happened to open up during his drive on the freeway, U.S. 60. When the motorist tried to help; it caused an accident with five other vehicles crashing into the Xterra. The accident led to injuries with over a dozen and a death of a Good Samaritan. It is sad for a good person to pass on for doing a good thing.

Journal #41 What I recently learned how to do

I recently learned how to replace an old windshield wiper with a new one. My car needed new ones and with all the rain in the past week it was important to switch fast. My dad was the one who helped me because after all he knows all of that kind of stuff about cars. First we went to Checkers and got the wipers that are made for my type of car. Then we took off the old wipers and replaced them with the new ones. It was pretty simple. Now, I know how to replace an old windshield wiper.

Journal #38 Anything good this week

This week there are several things going good for me. I'm glad that I don't have to work tomorrow because it's Thanksgiving. Ever since I have been working I have been working on all the holidays, even my own birthday. It's nice to have at least one holiday off. One that I can spend time with my family. Another good thing going for me this week is that after today I have the rest of the week off for the holiday. I need a good break to get caught up with things in my life. Hopefully nothing bad happens to me over my little break. I will eat a lot of food and come back to school ready to go.

Journal #37 Texting while driving

Six weeks after the Phoenix City Council made text messaging while driving illegal, the police department has cited their first and only driver. On November fifth in north Phoenix, an officer pulled over the alleged offender. As it is known, Phoenix is one of the first cities in the nation to introduce a ban on sending and reading a text message while driving. I believe it is important to ban text messaging while driving because it is very dangerous and effective to everyone.

Journal #36 The worst thing that ever happened to me

Well, let me tell you this year has not been a very good one to me. I have had many worse things happen to me this year. But I will just give you two. In September I got into a car accident and fortunately I was alive. Then just this weekend I got robbed out of my car, at my own house. They stole my c.d. player, my speaker box, all of my c.d.s and a hundred dollar bill. I can blame myself for that incident. I didn't lock my car, and I was stupid enough to leave a hundred dollars in my car. Hopefully the rest of this year turns out safe and well. If not, hopefully next year.

Journal #35 Which is more important?

I believe that being organized is important to me. I am organized with everything that I do. This also helps me accomplish things. So in a way it is important to be organized and accomplish things. I like to keep organized with my room. I make my bed every morning and have a routine. I also think I have a small O.C.D. (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) problem with being organized. I like to be neat and clean. I can not leave my house with out everything put back where it was and clean. It is important to be organized and accomplish things. Being organized helps with my homework as well. I like to keep a organizer to keep track of my work, what it is, when it is due, etc. Being organized is a very important thing to have.

Journal #34 Suns Vs Knicks

Today the Phoenix Suns played a winning game with a score of 113-102 at home against the New York Knicks. Fans and players were worried about all the injuries that came about. In today's game the Suns showed faith to their fans and themselves. With Stoudemire bringing in the hot points to the game and with the help from Barbosa and Nash, made an amazing game. Stoudemire started off with twelve points in the first seven minutes and finished with twenty six points and twelve rebounds.

Journal #33 2007 Tobasco Flood

In the late October and early November the Tabasco Flood took over the Mexicans states of Tabasco and Chiapas, which left as much as 80% under water. 20,000 people were forced to seek emergency shelter. And over 1,000,000 of the residents have been effected. Causing of the flood was due to heavy rains in October and early November. Felipe Calderon says that, "this is one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the country". Again mother nature strikes. Hopefully my home stays safe and those around me. It is a sad tragedy for those that have lost everything.

Journal #32 Suns beat Cavs

Phoenix Suns taking off with an excellent game yesturday with the score of 103-92 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thier play on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers was a wash out with a poor lose. Suns are 2-1, hopefully they can take thier game to the next level. It will be an interesting season this year for the Suns as they try to win it into the playoffs. With Steve Nash and Stoudemire it could be an interesting season.

Journal #31 famous or not

I would like to be famous, maybe for a day. I wouldn't want to be famous for any wrong reasons. If I were famous I would want to be famous for being an actress in a movie or a famous dancer in Disney Land. I would enjoy all of the fame and the attention. I think it might get annoying after a while. I don't plan on becoming famous. But if it comes I would already know what to expect.

Journal #30 Happy Halloween

Today is Halloween. The holiday to have fun with dressing up into a costume and go trick or treating. This holiday can be scary and gorey but yet it can be a lot of fun. Some people like to get real creative on this holiday. They decorate their house with fancy Halloween decorations. Some people also get creative with their costumes. This year I am going to be a fairy. I already went to a few Halloween parties and wore my costume at least five times. So today after I get out of work, my family and I are going to go trick or treating around our neighborhood.

Journal #29 Phoenix Suns looking to break through

The Phoenix Suns are entering thier 40th season. Both fans and players are frustrated to win an NBA title. With hard work and faith the team can go far. Some of the players have been in the struggle for a few years. Those have delt with the headaches and heart pounding of it all. As for the others this is also their break through and dream. I am a fan of the Phoenix Suns and to see them win the playoffs would be a big break through.

Journal #28 Must-do, Want-to-do, & Hope-to-do

I have a lot of must-do things on my list. But for the most important part I must graduate from college and reach my goals. Hopefully this will only take up to two more years. I want to open up my own dance studio and teach dance. I believe this will happen in about eight to ten more years. I hope to become a good role model toward young children who want to achieve their goals.

Journal #27 In the News- California Wildfires

In the article I read about today talks about the wildfires in southern California. This fire started October 20, 2007 and is still in continue. There was an evacuation of 900,000 residents in the southern area. And at least 1,500 homes were destroyed, included land destroyed. There was 11 people who have died and at least 70 injured. I hope all of the people in California survive and everything turns out okay.

Journal #26 Best thing about the class so far

The best thing about this class so far for me is the journals. I enjoy writing in my blogger journals in this class. I like it because I get to do free writing, read articles in the news, and write about other peers thoughts. I write journals in other classes but writing journals in this class is very interesting and knowledgeable. Hopefully in the future I will have the same journal writing as I do in this class. For now I will continue to write in my blogger journal.

Journal #25 California Burn

Flames grew into thousands of homes near southern California, Thursday making there no hope for those to go home. The San Diego County sheriff says that fire crews have found two more burried bodies near Poway. Another concern was electricity. A wildfire cut a main power link with Arizona as a nother heads toward Camp Pendleton. More than 8,500 homes are in danger of these wildfires. I hope that every thing turns out okay in the end. It is hard and sad what mother nature brings to us.

Journal #24 Free Writing

Today is Wednesday the seventeenth. I can't wait untill this weekend. It's my little neices third birthday party. We are renting a pony and going to have so many exciting things to do. I can't wait. Untill then I have a lot of things going on. I have homework to get caught up on. Things to get done around my house. And personal things I haven't started that need to get done.

Journal #23 Best thing about this course

The best thing about this course right now to me is that we got to watch a movie. I enjoy watching movies in class because not everyday do people get assigned to do a homework assignment on a movie. I am writing a five paragraph essay about the movie that I am watching. I would like to do more assignments that have to do with watching movies.

Journal #22 Suns Sold Out

In the article I read today talks about the Phoenix Suns and how they are arising this season. The Suns are in their pre-season games and already they are selling out of seats. The tickets are being sold out as well for the playoff season. The Sun's senior vice president for business says, "It's the fewest number of available tickets we've had at this time of year in my 7 1/2 years here". I hope the Suns can prove to everyone this year that they can win. Hopefully they win the playoffs this year without any injures or issues.

Journal #21 Double Ten Day

In the article I read today, talks about the Chinese traditional day. This day which is October 10, 2007, is what they call Double Ten Day (10-10-07). Double Ten Day is the national day of the republic of China and celebrates the beginning of the Wuchang Uprising of October 10, 1911, which led to the collapse of the Qing dynasty. Double Ten Day is also celebrated by many overseas Chinese communities especially by anti-communism groups.

Journal #20 Likes and Dislikes about Course

So far I am liking the course. It is going good for me right now. I am not in any danger of failing or not learning anything. What I like about this course is how Dr. Cooper sat down with each student and let us know where we stand in the course, and what our grades look like. Even though students should know what their grades are, Dr. Cooper made it easier to understand. What I dislike about the course is Dr. Coopers attendance. Shes sometimes late to class and gets us worried. Nobody is perfect.

Journal #19 State Fair

In the article I read about the state fair, it talks about this years fair and last years. This year they are hoping to have about 1.5 million people attend the fair this year. Due to the promotions and discounts. They also say the fair is going to be even bigger, opening this Friday. Last year there was an amount of 1.3 million people who enjoyed their time at the fair. I love going to the fair. Although I go every year and they have the same things to do there. Its fun to go and have a good time. You never know what surprises they might have and who will be there.

Journal #18 Jabal al-Tair

In today's article, I read about the Jabal al-Tair Island. This is a mountain island, roughly oval volcanic island northwest of the constricted passage at the mouth of the Red Sea. After 124 years of democracy, the volcano that created the island erupted on September 30, 2007. This caused the deaths of many of people. I believe that it is important to know what is going on in our world not just our country. Mother nature can really be a pain sometimes.

Journal #17 Free Writing

Today is Tuesday, October the second. I am so excited that all of the holidays are coming up. Many of my family members birthdays are also coming up. I am really looking forward to my nieces third birthday party. It is going to be a big princess party. Her birthday is around Halloween. Although we are going to have her party a week before Halloween. We are also going to dress up in our costumes as part of her party. Because I am her god daughter, I am going to be her fairy god mother. She is going to be Cinderella. Relating to the movie Cinderella. I can't wait.

Journal #16 Illegal Immagrants

In the AzCentral article I read today, it talks about criminal illegal immigrants coming into the U.S.. And how our government is trying to prevent them from returning. Our government has tryed to eliminate most of the criminal illegal immigrants. It seems that many are still making it harder for the government to keep all of them out. Some how they are still returning. There has been an increase in arrests as border patrols seen in Arizona. Nearly 90,000 criminals were deported in the last years. With a 72 percentage of those criminals were from Mexico. I believe that it is hard for the government to keep illegal immigrants especially criminals out of our country. The government does what it needs to do to help out its own country.

Journal #15 My Plan

Recently I have made some plans for school, work, even personal plans. One of my plans is to throw my best friend, Ashlee a baby shower. I am responsible for half of the work. Her god mother is helping the other half. Her baby shower is in October, so I won't know if it will come out the way we planned. But hopefully the baby shower does come out the way we plan.

Journal #14 Favorite Commercial

One of my favorite commercials would be the Axe commercial. The "Bom chicka wah wah" commercial where the girl is in the grocery store and starts to sing and dance to that song when she sees the man in the produce section. I thinks its funny because they are trying to make it seem like the Axe fragrance is seductive to women. What makes me laugh is knowing that no one would really do something like that in a grocery store. Unless their weird.

Journal #13 New Law in Cave Creek

A new law in Cave Creek for loitering and drivers who stop on the towns road, will take place on October 24, 2007. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is enforcing this law because road workers don't deserve the mess that people are doing to their streets and towns. Although those workers can also be arrested for breaking that law. Also in November, council might consider new laws against those who are hiring undocumented illegal immigrants.

Journal #12 Niagra Falls

I have been to many spectacular places in my life. One of the most memerable places that I have been to was Niagra falls. This place is located on the border line of New York and Canada. It is a big water fall that you can just observe or you can actually take a boat ride around the waterfall. I went in the year two thousand three, when I used to live in Meridan, Connecticut. The part that I liked about it was that I got to get wet. The gave us ponchos so we wouldn't get soaked. What I didn't like was that it was cold. I would go and visit Niagra Falls again.

Journal #11 Yue Hwa Building

In todays article I read about the Yue Hwa Building. A historical building in china town. Located at the corner of the junction of Eu Tong Sen Street and Upper Cross Street of Outram, Singapore. To me historical facts are very intersting. Knowing that something has lived for many of years and is still be used to this time is interesting to know. The Yue Hwa Building is now housing the Yue Hwa Chinese products.

Journal #10 D-Backs wins

Last nights home game for the Diamond Backs was successful. I happened to be there at the game as they won 5-0, against the Giants. It was a wonderful play although there weren't any boo's in this game. It is nice to know that the Arizona Diamond Backs are coming up. Even though I don't really care for baseball, I had a goog time.

Journal #9 Likes and Dislikes about this course

So far everything has been going okay for me in this course. I have been a little unorganized in the beginning but now I am trying to stay on task and organized. What I like about this course is that it seems easy and interesting. I am learning a lot of English, things that I should have paid attention to when I was in high school. I don't really like how turning in our work goes. Its sometimes hard to know when things need to be turned in and how to turn them in. Overall, I really enjoy this course and hope to learn more along the way.

Journal #8 What I noticed about myself today

Today, I noticed that I am prepared for the day. I woke up early without being so tired. I had a good breakfast this morning, that will keep me going throughout the day. I came to school early so I can finish up some work, and study in the library. I have brought all of my needed materials to school. It is also a surprise that I am having a good attitude this morning. I am usually not a morning person. Maybe its because I don't have to work today.

Journal #7 Mercury win WNBA title

Yesterday, the Phoenix Mercury WNBA team won their title of championship. With their scoring of 108-92 against Detroit. It was a well worth winning for them because they were told it was a curse to why they have never won a championship title. But now it has all paid off. The Mercury no longer believes in the so called curse. As they celebrated with Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver. It is good to see Arizona coming up in our sports. I would like to see the Phoenix Suns make to the playoffs and maybe win this time. Maybe even the Cardinals beat out their rivals.

Journal #6 Article K9

I read in the article the sad story of how a K9 died. He was left in his patrol vehicle for more than 12 hours and died. I believe the Police officer held responsible should be punished. In which he was. That to me is a sad story. I also look at that as animal cruelty. It wasn't just an accident. It is sad to know that an innocent K9 who was made for helping people had to pass away in such a tragic way. Maybe people will learn not to keep children or animals locked up in a vehicle.

Journal #5 WikiPidia

In the article that I read in wikipidia, it talked about the english language and how it has changed. It explains how the word thou, has been changed to you. It is interesting to know how the english language has changed through out time. It also talks about the pro-noun and nouns. I think that is also interesting that they used pro-nouns and nouns but in a different english form.

Journal #4: Famous or Not

Most people want to be rich and famous. When it comes to being rich and famous, it looks nice and fun but at the same time it can be annoying. I wouldn't want to be famous because it's just drama. It's drama with the media, it can effect my personal and social life, and it also causes stress sometimes. I think being who I am today is enough of being famous for me. If I were to be famous, I would want to be famous for good reasons and not bad.

Journal #3: Dare

When I was younger, my brothers and sisters and I would always play around. We did the most outrageous, and crazy things. We use to make up our own games. This one time we made up a dare card game. The idea of the game was that all the cards were laying face down, spread around a table and each person had to draw one card. Who ever had the lowest number of their card had to do the dare. Well, I happened to have the lowest card. My older brother dared me to stick my head in the toilet. Not to be a poor sport, I did the dare. It was funny, we all laughed and had a good time. To this day my brother and us still act like little kids when were together.

Journal #2: My skills

My strongest communication skills are that I am very clear and to the point at times. I like to communicate up front person to person. That way its professional and the person that I am communicating with will understand me, if not they might ask some questions. Other skills and talents that I have are getting work done. I am the type of person that doesn't like to be late. I like to complete any tasks that should be done. I like to stay neat and organized as well. I do this by making it a daily habit.

Journal #1: My Goals

Many people have interesting goals. I have a few real world goals and course goals. My real world goals are, to become successful with dance, and work. I want to be a performer at Disneyland, or other great theme parks. I also want to be a hard, but successful worker with my job. My course goals are to learn new and helpful skills in this class that will help me in the world. I hope to leave this course with great knowledge and a passing grade.
